Sport Relief is a national day of fundraising through sport, activity and the promotion of a healthy lifestyle. Tens of millions of pounds are raised each time through major televised challenges, and small local efforts alike.
The Sport Relief team have developed a host of helpful resources to enable early years settings to make the most of this great event; here are our top picks:
"It's Game On" is the official Sport Relief schools' song for 2020. There is an activity plan specifically for early years settings which encourages you to turn a performance of the song into a sponsored activity. As well as copies of the lyrics to help you teach the children the words, there is a fantastic document with the Makaton Signing Lyrics as well.
Cake Sales have a long tradition of raising money for charities in workplaces and education settings alike, but Sport Relief encourages a more healthy take on the sugary-original. Take a look at their brilliant recipes, all designed to be prepared with children’s help ready to be sold to parents and the community for charity.
Print out a set of the exclusive Sport Relief Hide & Seek Cards, cut them up and hide them around your setting. Challenge the children to hunt them out, and consider getting them to try out different types of movement as they go!
The whole idea of Sport Relief is to raise money for great causes. Sport Relief have a smart form ready to go, which is all set up for giftaid too. You can download it here.
